If you LOVE my work and feel like my style is the right fit for celebrating your little one, I would truly love the opportunity to work with you. Birthday and cake smash sessions are such a fun way to capture these milestones at any age, with options available for older children and even adults. My goal is to create images that your family will enjoy now and look back on for years to come.
Classic cake smash sessions feature either a clean white setup or an existing themed setup currently available in studio. Custom themed sessions are fully customized setups created specifically around your chosen theme or vision. Cake smash sessions are designed for 1st birthdays, while Any Age Birthday Sessions are available for children ages 2 and up through adults.

Birthday and cake smash sessions are usually scheduled about 4–6 weeks before your celebration. This gives me enough time to carefully edit your images so they’re ready for you to share and enjoy for the big day.
Most sessions take anywhere from 20–75 minutes. Every session is different, so the timing really depends on your child (or you!). Some are ready to jump right in, while others like a little time to warm up and explore the setup. I keep the pace flexible so the experience stays easygoing and fun.
Whichever package you choose, you can expect a thoughtfully planned experience from the first conversation through the final delivery of your images.

Themed sessions are such a fun way to bring your vision to life! Whether you have a specific theme in mind or just a color palette you love, we’ll customize the backdrop and props to create something unique just for you. Themed sessions are perfect for any age, but for children over 5, pricing may increase since larger props and setups are needed.
Outfits are provided for your session unless you have something specific you’d love your little one to wear. For safety and comfort, outfits should not extend past the knees if made of silky materials or anything that could prevent easy movement or crawling. Outfits will be worn during the cake smash portion and are only removed if you choose to add a tub splash to your session.
Tub splash add-ons are available for first birthday sessions only, as the tub is designed with little ones in mind for both size and safety.

When you arrive at the studio, we’ll begin getting everything ready for your session. If a family or sibling add-on was purchased for a 1st birthday session, those images will typically be photographed first before focusing on individual portraits and cake smash images.
For little ones celebrating their 1st birthday, sessions are kept fun, relaxed, and flexible. Some babies jump right in and love the experience, while others may need a little extra time to warm up to the setup, cake, or camera. Parents may be asked to help encourage smiles, attention, or interaction throughout the session. I work intentionally and efficiently to capture genuine expressions and the best moments while keeping the experience enjoyable for everyone.
For Any Age Birthday Sessions (ages 2 through adults), sessions are designed to feel relaxed, fun, and personalized to fit the personality and style of the birthday client. Whether simple and timeless or more playful and themed, I guide posing and expressions throughout the session to create natural, flattering images.
Please arrive on time, dressed and ready to begin. For cake smash sessions, it’s helpful for little ones to arrive rested, fed lightly, and comfortable before the session starts. I follow a specific workflow to help keep sessions running smoothly while creating a consistent, high-quality final gallery.
If you decide to purchase heirloom products or additional images, selections and upgrades will be completed after viewing your gallery. Payment plans are available upon request.
Feel free to bring any snacks or drinks you may need during your session. Please avoid chocolate or anything that may stain.

These images are captured first and typically take about 10–15 minutes. I begin by photographing clean, natural expressions while everything is fresh and relaxed.
During this part of the session, be prepared to stay engaged—whether that’s helping guide younger children back into place, encouraging interaction, or simply relaxing into the moment yourself. Every age is a little different, but the goal is always to keep things comfortable while capturing genuine expressions.
For little ones, it’s completely normal if they don’t want to stay in one spot for long. Feel free to bring a few favorite items or small distractions if needed, but we’ll only use them if absolutely necessary to keep the focus on your images.

Bath pictures
This part seems even faster! Once we bring in the cake, the cake smash usually takes about 15 minutes. I let your baby set the pace as some little ones are eager to dig into the cake & others are more hesitant & need some encouragement. If your little one is shy about digging into the frosting, you might to get in there & show them how it’s done. Be ready for a mommy, daddy cake smash
WARNING: Most little ones cry during this process. Some a lot, some a little, some not at all.
They get messy, they get tired, they no longer want to be on the backdrop. This is when you break out their favorite treats & songs, so make sure to save the best for last! But just know-we will stick it out & keep shooting.
Some of the best photos come in between screams. (lol)
If you choose to include a bath or tub splash, this part is always a favorite! We simply let them splash and have fun while I capture the moments. Bath photos typically take about 5 minutes. You won’t need anything besides a towel to wrap them up once they’re ready to come out.
After the session
You will first receive a gallery to review and favorite your selected images based on the collection included with your session. At that time, you will also have the option to upgrade your gallery or purchase additional images if desired. Once your selections have been finalized, your chosen images will be fully edited and delivered once completed.
If you decide to purchase heirloom products as an add-on to your session, we will choose a date for your ordering appointment after your images are ready. During this appointment, you’ll be able to view your images and select any albums, wall art, framed prints, or keepsake products you may wish to order.
Appointments are available on weekdays with limited weekend availability.
For added flexibility, payment plans are available through Afterpay or in-house financing.

If you are interested in investing in heirloom products such as albums, wall art, or keepsake pieces, a separate viewing and ordering appointment will be scheduled after your session to design and select your products. Payment plans are available upon request. please plan to place your order during your ordering appointment, have an idea of what you’d like to select, and ensure all decision-makers are present. Once an order is placed, changes cannot be made.
